Do It the Hard Way
Do It the Hard Way is from the 1940 musical Pal Joey. The best known song from that musical is Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, which contains the lyrics "Horizontally speaking, he's at his very best," and that means what you think it does. But the song Do It the Hard Way is not about sex. It's about not taking the easy way out in a romance. However, instead of talking about the hard way and the easy way, the lyrics talk about the hard way and the soft way. My version may not be what lyricist Lorenz Hart had in mind, but how could I resist?
