Hiking - Part 31

 Harz Naturist Trail, Germany

This is a trail officially designated for naked hiking in the Harz Mountains region of Germany.  This sign at one end of the trail says "Harz Naturist Trail.  If you don't want to see any naked people, don't go any further!"

The trail connects the towns of Dankerode and Wippra.  It's 18 kilometers long, plus a 6 km loop and a 13 km loop, so altogether, it provides a lot of naked hiking!

The trail was the idea of the owner of a campsite in Dankerode.  The trail was prepared in 2009 by posting signs and clearing thorns and nettles that could be hazardous to naked hikers, and it was officially opened in 2010.

This is a hiker named Markus on the trail.

Markus next to a lake that the trail goes around.

The trail goes past a dam.

Another hiker, who calls himself Ninja Andi, on the dam.  I'm not sure whether the trail goes across the dam or whether this is a side trail.

Andi by a picnic table on the trail.  The table is labeled "Nude Walk" in English and German.

Here's Andi in a little pavilion on the trail.

And inside the pavilion, ... oops, we'd better let Andi have some privacy.  Bye, Andi!

I believe it often turns into a gay male cruising place.

Bless that dude who came up with the idea. Nude hiking used to be a favorite thing to do. No official places, but since nudity is not illegal on federal lands....

Wish I'd known about that when I could still hike!
