Posters part 7
We continue our mini-series on ads in the form of posters featuring nude males. Today, posters from 2014 to the present. Above, a 2014 poster promoting an Indian sci-fi film called PK.
This is a 2015 election poster for John Erik Wagner, a candidate for Prime Minister in Denmark. Is that his penis? Yes, it is. Wagner said "Other candidates' posters are boring." The poster attracted a lot of attention, but Wagner lost the election.
A poster for a naked fashion show in Quebec in 2015.
Parents, a 2016 Danish movie.
This poster promoting recycling was seen in Pompeii in 2016, but it's not 2000 years old. The naked man is copied from a fresco of Perseus and Andromeda in a house in Pompeii. The Latin words say "Guest Crisis Barbarism Negligence."
A 2017 German poster for Gauloises cigarettes.
Another election poster was even more revealing. This 2018 poster for the Pirate Party in the Netherlands shows party leader Jelle de Graaf holding a sign saying "Nothing to hide." He was actually elected to the Amsterdam West city council in 2014, but he lost in 2018.
A 2019 poster for an exhibit of photos by Elvert Barnes Photography.
A 2019 poster for a theatrical version of The Full Monty in Liverpool, England.
A 2019 poster for the Spartacus party on Fire Island.
A 2021 poster for an HBO special.
We end with a 2024 poster for a show called Body Shop playing at the Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn, NY.
