Performers - Part 35

 Dryden Mitchell

Dryden Mitchell is one of the founding members of the band Alien Ant Farm.  The band is not known for performance nudity, although Mitchell did partially expose himself on stage at the Sonisphere festival in England in 2009, above.

Alien Ant Farm was formed in Riverside, California in 1996.  Their best known song is their 2001 cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal that was featured in the film American Pie 2.  Above, Chester Bennington of the band Linkin Park, at right, getting friendly with Dryden Mitchell, at left, in 2001.  Note there's something sticking out of Chester's pants.

Although Mitchell stays clothed onstage, he seems to delight in getting naked offstage.  I think the video clip above was from a studio session.

Immediately afterwards, a bandmate says that stunt was for Teen People magazine – or is it teen pee-hole?

Outdoors, after drinking something from a funnel through a long tube, he decides to show off.

Back in the studio, a bandmate riffs on the fact that Mitchell is letting it all hang out.

The band has a tour bus with bunk beds on either side of the aisle.  This clip is one of many showing Mitchell and other band members fooling around naked on the bus.  Mitchell is the one at left.

His bus activities were apparently not limited to when the bus was parked at night.  Here he's distracting the driver as the bus is being driven down the highway.

We end with this clip of Mitchell and other band members.  "Oh, he jizzed all over Chris."

In 2002, while the band was touring in Spain, their tour bus crashed into a parked truck, killing the bus driver (who was from Wales, presumably not the same driver as the bus video above) and injuring the band members.  Mitchell was the most severely injured.  He literally broke his neck (the C2 vertebra) and was lucky not to be paralyzed from the neck down.  As it was, he had a long recovery and some permanent nerve damage.  Four years later, he said his upper body constantly felt like a bad sunburn, but it was tolerable and better than the alternative.  He also said the only time when the nerve damage subsides is when he's onstage and his mind is diverted.

Alien Ant Farm is still performing.  At a concert in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in late 2022, Dryden Mitchell grabbed the hand of a male fan who had raised it in the air, and Mitchell touched it to his crotch (above).  (He was clothed, so the touch was only to his pants).  Mitchell was later charged with misdemeanor battery for the incident.

"Misdemeanor battery"?! Someone doesn't have a sense of humor.

I especially enjoyed the short video of him cavorting around, and hearing a woman's voice. That really should be what an unashamed male does.....be naked in front of everyone!

The 2022 concert is a case of not knowing how far is too far.
Personally, I would've found it funny!
