Hiking - Part 32

First, an update to my last hiking post on the Harzer Naturistenstieg naked hiking trail in Germany.

Pascal, who follows my blog, wrote to say that he knows that trail, and he sent some pictures of himself there.  Here he is on the dam.

Now for today's subject.  Goblin Valley is a state park in Utah where you can hike and enjoy the scenery.

It's a great place to visit, full of interesting rock formations.  I'm afraid these first two photos are the only ones I could find of a naked man in Goblin Valley, and both of those are rear views.

Nevertheless, the place is full of penises.  Specifically, it's full of rock formations called hoodoos, which are the goblins in Goblin Valley.

Guidebooks say the hoodoos are mushroom-shaped, but some of them may remind you of something else.

I call this the "valley of the penises."

The shape of this one is particularly suggestive.

Goblin Valley under the stars is an awesome sight (click on the photo for a larger view).

But let me enlarge the third hoodoo from the left in the previous photo for another interesting sight.

This is not a typical hoodoo, but whoever took the photo certainly knew what it looks like.

In 2013, a Boy Scout leader deliberately knocked over a balanced rock on a hoodoo, while his son looked on and high-fived him and his friend, another Boy Scout leader, recorded it all in the video above, then posted it on YouTube.  A furor erupted over the vandalism.  The men claimed that the rock was about to fall and they were removing a hazard, but this convinced nobody.  The cameraman later admitted that it was "boneheaded."  The Boy Scouts expelled both Scout leaders, and a court ordered the men to pay several thousand dollars, but they did not have to serve any time in jail.
