Brylcreem
In the 1950s and early 1960s, it was popular for young men to slick back their hair with hair tonics or creams like Brylcreem. It was the era of the "greasers." The 1950s commercial above has no nudes, but it shows what Brylcreem was selling (sex – surprise, surprise).
Rival hair tonic Vitalis derided their competition as "greasy kids' stuff." Modern commentators have likened Brylcreem to motor oil and said that if the "gals" actually did "get their fingers in your hair" like the jingle says, they should wash their hands. That's actually not too far off the mark – Brylcreem's main ingredient was mineral oil.
Now look at the nude 2004 Brylcreem commercial above. Clearly they're still selling sex. My only comment is that most of the guys in it are using Brylcreem to make their hair stick out and look intentionally messy, which is ironically the style that so horrified the girl in the 1950s commercial before he plastered down his hair with Brylcreem. OK, maybe in the nude commercial you weren't looking at their hair.

When I was a kid my parents had us use Wildroot Hair Oil. Greasy stuff.

I remember using that stuff. Oh, it was nasty!
I used Brylcreem when I used to have hair. Unfortunately, I never had anyone wanting to run their fingers through the hair on my head, or more importantly, my pubic hair!!!
