Cambridge Blues Naked Calendar
The Cambridge Blues Naked Calendar is an annual naked calendar put out by students at Cambridge University, England, featuring male and female members of sports teams. Of course, we're concentrating on the men. The calendar is relatively recent; the first one came out in 2017. Like other such student calendars, the proceeds are donated to charity.
The cover of the 2019 calendar shows the men's lacrosse team in the library.
The calendars feature a variety of locations around the campus. These students in the 2019 calendar are punting on the river Cam that flows through Cambridge. They are on the American football team. It was a surprise to me that some English guys play American football. (Lots of Brits play football, but in England, football is what Americans call soccer.)
2019: men's fencing.
2019: the men's hockey team (what Americans call field hockey).
2019: men's skiing.
The 2022 calendar for February showed the men's lacrosse team in the Museum of Classical Archaeology.
March 2022: boxing.
May 2022: men from the netball, gymnastics and American football teams. Netball, played in Britain and Commonwealth countries, is similar to basketball but with different rules (e.g. no dribbling).
July 2022: Men's tennis.
September 2022: the men's volleyball team.
We end with August 2022. The sport was not given, but I think it's the men's athletics team. What the British call athletics is what Americans call track and field. This amusing composition looks like the cartoons showing the evolutionary progression from ape to human and then devolving back into an ape at the end.
