Cincinnati Reds at Florida Training Camp
The LIFE magazine photo archive is a vast repository of over 4 million photos taken by LIFE's photographers, most of which were never used in the magazine. Professional athletes walked around naked in locker rooms, unconcerned about the photographers, because there was a gentlemen's agreement that no frontal nudity would be published. So the photographers were free to take photos of whatever they wanted, like these photos of the Cincinnati Reds in their Florida training camp, taken by LIFE photographer Bernard Hoffman in May, 1939.
Players in the shower room. Who needs privacy? We're all men here.

How far the men in this country have fallen when it comes to male nudity. Though, thankfully, we seem to be crawling back up the ladder.
So natural nudity
