Mallorca is an island in the Mediterranean off the coast of Spain. Previously we looked at Es Trenc beach on Mallorca. Today we look at Playa del Mago, another nude beach on Mallorca. It's also called Cala El Mago (El Mago Cove) because it's located on a little cove, the one at left in the view above.
The beach is nice ...
but very small, so it can get crowded.
The building behind the beach is a restaurant. This also attracts boats that anchor offshore and come in to enjoy the restaurant.
The beach attracts a large gay crowd, though it's not exclusively a gay beach.
Still, it's a good place for body-watching ...
a little wading or swimming ...
and dreaming.

Seems like a nice place.
Nude beaches came to Spain via tourists. In the time of Franco and his fascist regime not even a bikini was legal to wear at any beach in Spain. Then with mass tourism developing in the 1950’s and exploding in the 1960’s Spain had to accommodate the demands of first the tourists, and then its own people, Franco and the fascist Falange be damned.
Spanish women were finally allowed to wear bikinis and official nude beaches were developed. Today what were once quiet fishing villages have become mega resorts, like Marbella, Torremolinos, Tossa de Mar, Benidorm, Malaga, Sitges, Nerja, Palma and others.
