We end with an episode from the Howard Stern show in which Stern's colleague Richard Christy celebrated his 50th birthday by playing Dick or Sausage. He stripped and presented his dick and four sausages on a board in front of him. Five show staffers, all male, were blindfolded and had to feel the dick and sausages and identify which one was the dick. All but one correctly identified the dick by feel. Above, staffer Chris Wilding takes his turn.

The site that I use to identify unusual holidays says Oct. 1 is National Sausage Day, but other sites listed National Sausage Day as January 5, April 30, June 5, October 11, or October 21. National Sausage Roll day is June 5, and International Sausage Day is April 12. But after all, for some of us, every day is sausage day.

How neat! If I ever saw a sausage like that in my local grocery, I would HAVE to add that to my grocery cart, and be totally proud of it at the checkout counter. At home I would definitely savor it's feel in my mouth before finally eating it! Wow, that Howard Stern show looks so wonderful!!!
