Poem of the Day - Part 56

 The Camel
by Ogden Nash

                                                The camel has a single hump;

                                                The dromedary, two;

                                                Or else the other way around.

                                                I'm never sure.  Are you?

(Note: actually the dromedary has one hump and the camel has two.  I looked it up.)

I'll take the two humps in the first picture!

The dromedary is the Arabian camel with one hump. The bactrian is the Mongolian camel with two humps.

If you rotate the letter B of Bactrian a quarter-turn left, it has two humps. If you similarly rotate the D of Dromedary, it has one hump. This is a very effective mnemonic.
