Madison, Wisconsin
Recently I reported on attempts by Republicans in Wisconsin to make it a crime to be naked in public, including the World Naked Bike Ride held in Madison, the state capital, and to make it a crime for children to be present at any event where people are naked. I showed this photo, saying "Imagine if a child were exposed to someone advocating ecological responsibility. The horror!"
One of my readers identified this guy as Wiscthor, who has a Twitter page (more on that later). I found lots more photos from WNBRs in Madison, and I decided to make today's post about WNBRs in that fair city, with a postscript about Wiscthor.
This photo is from the 2014 WNBR in Madison. One guy rides a tall bike. Another guy appears as a clown every year, but with decidedly non-clownish messages, like "Decrease petroleum consumption."
Here's the guy who was raising his fist in the air in the previous photo, clearly not in anger, but in solidarity.
This 2014 rider is promoting "Daly 4 mayor," but it didn't work. Candidate Daly, an independent, got only 3% of the vote.
In 2018, the guy who was riding a tall bike in the 2014 photo has gotten another tall bike and grown a beard.

Speaking of Wiscthor, my reader suggested checking out his Twitter page, which I did (get on Twitter and do a search for wiscthor and you'll find it). He is definitely an unashamed male. This photo was captioned "Like anything here?"

I did an entire post of Wiscthor, but didn't know his name at the time.
Democrats became obsessed with winning the South, forgot industrial states that voted for Democrats every election since Dukakis. Or earlier in Minnesota's case ) The South continued to vote Republican.
