Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus discovered America on October 12, 1492.  Some people do not consider that a thing to be celebrated, as it led to enslavement and genocide of Native Americans. So, today, I am not celebrating Christopher Columbus. I am celebrating Columbus, Ohio. Specifically, today I'm celebrating Ohio State University, located in Columbus.

The Ohio State football team is known as the Buckeyes, because Ohio is the Buckeye State.  Above, Buckeyes quarterback Tate Martell, at left, is being interviewed in the locker room with an unnamed Buckeye teammate in the background.

Those are not marijuana leaves on the poster behind this student.  They're the leaves and seedpod of the Ohio buckeye tree.

One way to show support is to wear a Buckeyes T-shirt, like this guy, wearing his T-shirt ...

Charlie supports the Buckeyes with his tattoo of the state of Ohio labeled "This is Buckeye country."  Again, those are not marijuana leaves above it; they're buckeye leaves.

We end with a performance by an Ohio State student group called 8th Floor Improv.  This is a clip from a skit called "8th Floor Locker Room."  Well, as our first photo above shows, this is what happens when you do an interview in a locker room!
