Protests - Part 41

 Protest Against Divisiveness

Do you feel that our society is getting more and more divided?  What can you do about it?  How about organizing a protest where people get naked and get their bodies painted?  That was the plan of body-painting artist Andy Golub on June 15, 2019.  Here Golub, at left, was being interviewed in Times Square, the site of the protest.

One of the protesters addressed the crowd.

Then the protesters marched down Broadway.

They carried signs with slogans, as well as the slogans painted on their bodies.

"We Are One" ...

"We're Beautiful Automatons" (a strange slogan, but everyone got to choose their own) ...

"Our Time is Now", "Our Voices Share the Air", "love, love love" ...

"If I am only for myself, what am I" ...

"Unity Heals the World" ...

"Unity Makes Us Stong" (even if it doesn't make us good spellers) ...

"We the People", and many others.

The march ended by the Flatiron Building, where these guys jumped for joy (or for attention).

Here's the reaction of one passer-by.  If jaded New Yorkers reacted like this, then I think the protest was a success, at least in getting some attention for the issue.

Interesting. It does not seem to have made the news... Maybe because cocks and sacks were visible?
