The Naked Farmer - South Australia
Last time we saw how Australian farmer Ben Brooksby started The Naked Farmer as a set of social media sites to share photos of naked farmers and, his ulterior motive, to get people talking about mental health, a subject dear to his heart. The short video above recapitulates how he got started, and it also shows Ben doing a photo shoot of a naked farmer in a field.
After seeing the video, I remembered that one of the Naked Farmer photos that I had collected showed a naked farmer doing a headstand in a field in Eudunda, South Australia (above). I thought that must be the photo that he took in the video. But on closer examination, it's not the same field, and the guy in the video is barefoot while this guy has his boots on. So, Ben must have used his charm to persuade at least two Australian farmers to pose this way.
Initially, Ben went around photographing farmers in the state of Victoria, where he lives. But eventually he expanded his scope. This photo is labeled "South Australia tour, here we come." Evidently it was a tour to take photos in the state of South Australia while promoting his ideas about mental health. That's Ben sitting with the dog, while another farmer poses naked. All of today's photos are from the state of South Australia. We'll abbreviate it as SA, like the Aussies do.
Ben also expanded his scope by asking people to send in their own naked farmer photos. Hundreds replied. I'm pretty sure this Brahma bull photo from Jervois, SA was not taken by Ben, because his photos are in color.
But for the great majority of the photos, I can't tell which ones Ben took and which ones were sent in. This photo of a beekeeper in Tintinara, SA was labeled "Honey, I'm home!"
This one was labeled "Ben, Kangaroo Island." South Australia occupies about the middle third of Australia's southern coast, and Kangaroo Island is an island off that coast.
All I know about this one is that it's in South Australia, plus what the sign says. Does this guy really deliver superior licking? I guess you'd have to try him to find out.
This was labeled "Bush camp, Frances, SA."
Carl in Cowell, SA is a different kind of farmer – an oyster farmer.
We end with 21 farmers and an airplane in Maitland, SA. Much more to come.
