Performers - Part 7

 Nick Oliveri

Nick Oliveri, born 1971, has been a guitarist, bass player and singer with several rock bands.  In 1987 he started a band called Katzenjammer, which later changed its name to Kyuss.  After leaving Kyuss, Oliveri played with the Dwarves (above).  Throughout his career, he has often appeared naked onstage.

In 1997 he formed the band Mondo Generator (above).

From 1998 to 2004 he played with Queens of the Stone Age.  Above, he is performing with Queens of the Stone Age at the Rock in Rio II festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2001.  After the performance, he was arrested for performing nude.

This video is part of a Queens of the Stone Age performance of the song Tension Head at the Hurricane Festival in Germany in 2001.  The Germans didn't have any problem with him being naked on stage.

The band Queens of the Stone Age was having problems with him, however, and in 2004 they fired him for either (1) being too aggressive toward fans (2) abusing his girlfriend or (3) fighting with another band member over his girlfriend (accounts differ).  Since then, he has done short-term projects and played with a variety of other bands.
