Protests - Part 58

Rue Libre, 2010

On Oct. 30, 2010, members of an association of street artists called Rue Libre (Free Street) demonstrated in Tours, France to protest against culture budget cuts that they said would end artistic freedom in public spaces.

Walking naked under a giant wheel, they carried bags of colored powder that they threw onto the street (and got on themselves).

Some of the street artists.

Leading the way for the giant wheel.

Somehow the wheel got turned sideways.

One of the street artists.

Another street artist is well-hung.

A view of the artists under the wheel.  The sign says "La Retraite à Poil", which means "naked retirement."  I don't know if it was supporting or opposing the street artists and their naked street art.
