Performers - Part 43

Hentai Corporation

Hentai Corporation is not a corporation.  It's a metal band founded in 2005 in Prague, Czech Republic.  Their first album, above, has possibly the longest album title ever: The Spectre Of Corporatism: Starship Shaped Schnitzels From Planet Breadcrumbs Are Attacking A Giant Tree Monster Who Has A Vagina And Holds Hitler Hostage.  Can we say they're a bit eccentric?

They don't perform naked in clubs or music festivals.  But they made a music video of the song Equilibristic Brides that featured lead singer Radek Škarohlíd, plus a bunch of naked men wearing beaver heads and another naked man wearing a deer head costume.  Apparently the other four band members are among the naked men in the video.  Above is a still from the video.

They label their music as thrash, but some reviewers call it trash.  Nevertheless, the naked music video won the Video of the Year award in the Bacardi Music Awards 2013.  Above, Radek Škarohlíd (second from left) accepts the award at the ceremony at the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic, along with two other band members wearing their beaver head costumes.  One is also wearing a Borat mankini for modesty; the other is less modest.

Here's a selection of excerpts from the music video.  The full video includes some elements reminiscent of a horror movie: Radek gets chased through the woods, then tied to a tree while another man is stabbed and blood shoots out.  But then Radek is released and he's singing and dancing along with the naked beavers.  The guy with the deer head evokes the deer mascot of Jaegermeister, and at the end of the video he's holding a bottle of Jaegermeister.  Apparently the Jaegermeister brand later distanced itself, making it clear that it did not sponsor the video.

I don't know the history of the Jaegermeister logo - it's a near rip-off of a painting by the Austrian artist and graphic designer Josef Binder who died in 1972.

The video slices are not greatly different from the video, and fit that kind of album title. Consistent entertainment.

Hmmm. Think I'll pass on this one.

Love an ice-cold Jaegermeister once in a while. Now, all the more reason to smile next time I sip from a glass of it :-)
