Fall Equinox
Today is the Fall Equinox in the U.S. In Britain, it's called the Autumnal Equinox, and this year in Britain it occurs tomorrow morning, Sept. 23. Every year since 2012, the equinox has been celebrated there by holding the annual North East Skinny Dip at Druridge Bay in Northumberland, England. This year the event will be held at dawn on Sunday, Sept. 24.
The crowd gathers on the beach before sunrise. Then, when the sun appears, everyone runs naked into the North Sea.
Here's a participant in 2021.
A guy and his dog in 2013.
Some skinny-dippers in 2016.
We end with some participants spelling out NESD (North East Skinny Dip) in 2016.
The event raises money for MIND, a mental health charity. Since 2012 they have raised over £100,000 ($123,000).

what a nice well done feast!
All I can think is....brrrr.
At whatever time of the year, bathing in the North Sea takes bravery - or sweet foolishness :-)
Photos 3 and 5 are proof that not all people should skinny dip.
Up here in Fairbanks we have the Equinox Marathon, one of the most difficult ones. If people ran nude, I would want to be there to watch. I did run it in 1964 when I was in much better shape.
Fun with a cause!
Everyone should skinny dip, swim suits are silly and a pain
All people should skinny dip including 3 and 5. Swimsuits are terrible to inflict on anyone.
Always hump like there's no tomorrow
