Performers - Part 38

Bionic Dance, Madrid

Bionic Dance is a festival in Madrid, Spain, featuring dancers sharing the stage with trees.  There are both male and female dancers, and some are clothed, but there were enough nude male dancers to pique my interest, even though I'm not a dance aficionado.  Above, dancer Alvin Frutos, at left, with a partner dancing around two trees.

I have extracted some very short excerpts of videos of the dances.  Above is Frutos and a partner in a dance called Playing Naked with Trees.

Above, dancer Jonathan Martineau with a piece of cork bark and a Sophora japonica, or Japanese pagoda tree.

Dancer Denis Lavie dancing around a potted Trachycarpus forunei, or windmill palm, and Cordyline australis, or cabbage tree.

Dancer David Vento with an Olea Europaea, or olive tree.

Here's a short video clip of David Vento and the olive tree.

We end with Alvin Frutos leading other dancers in a dance called Dendrofilia, the Spanish spelling of dendrophilia (literally meaning love of trees), a paraphilia in which people are sexually attracted to or aroused by trees.  I must confess that the potted trees don't do much for me, but the naked guys are nice.

Potted trees and nude male dancers. A pleasant combination.

I was able to find dances of Martineau and Lavie naked, but not the others, so my google fu is not good enough.

Both of them are worth watching the whole video. Martineau is one of the few Danza Bionica dancers who respects the plants.
