Events - Part 40

 Christopher Street Day 2016

Christopher Street Day (CSD) is the name that some cities in Germany and Switzerland use for their Gay Pride celebration.  The name refers to the location of the Stonewall Riots on Christopher Street in New York in 1969.  CSD is a celebration, usually including a parade, but it's also a demonstration for LGBT rights and against discrimination.

Most participants are not naked, of course, but a few are.  All of today's photos are from CSD Berlin in 2016.

Here's a marcher in the parade carrying a "Naked Pride" sign who has decorated himself by painting his mustache green and wearing a matching bow tie.

The Naked Pride guy is seen in the background while a less decorative but equally naked guy is in the foreground.

Several of the marchers in 2016 got their naked bodies decorated with body paint.  Here's a guy getting painted.

A front view of the same guy getting painted.

Here he is in the parade with another guy painted as a tiger.

And here he is with several other painted guys.

And so we reach das Ende (German for "the end").

Some imaginative artwork, isn't it?

I'd much rather see clean-cut nude 18-year olds from Yale than these painted guys. Imaginative, yes. Erotic, no.

Those paint jobs are very elaborate.

I don't think body painting is intended to be erotic; I'm always amazed at the creativity and enjoy seeing them
