Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park in southern California is one of America's less famous parks, but it's well worth visiting.
The park is located in the Mojave Desert, plus portions of the neighboring Sonoran Desert. The signature plant of the Mojave Desert is the Joshua tree, seen in the background.
Here's an unusually large Joshua tree. Joshua trees are actually not trees. They're a type of yucca, related to agaves.
In addition to the areas with Joshua trees, the park includes more typical desert landscapes like the one behind this group of hikers ...
plus rocky cliffs, a favorite place for rock climbers ...
And even a few desert streams and pools. This photo and the next 4 are from the blog geography.newtumbl.com. That blog features male nude photos from locations all over the world, including a lot of photos from my blog, and I'm happy to return the favor.
I think this is the same guy as the last photo, lying beside the desert pool.
So, whether you're looking for wide-open landscapes ...
Or secluded rocky canyons ...
Or strange plant life, this place is worth a visit. By the way, since Joshua trees aren't really trees, you can't climb them. Don't try.
We end with the desert sky above Joshua Tree National Park. If you've never seen the night sky from the desert, try it. You'll be blown away. With cloudless skies, away from the lights of civilization, it looks like there are a million stars. Tens of thousands of years ago, this is what our remote ancestors saw. They were probably dressed just like this guy.

Jerry and I have visited Joshua Tree and it's very neat. Unfortunately, we did not see any naked men. Oh, and we weren't naked ourselves, either.
As a nudist group, you should walk trails, and gather litter.
The Rangers want to get mad at the nudity...but want to thank the group, for the cleanup!
