Protests - Part 5

 G8

The G8, or Group of 8, was a political forum of 8 countries: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Russia, that held annual summit meetings.  Russia was kicked out after it annexed the Crimea in 2014, and the group became the G7.

These meetings were ripe for protest, attracting anyone who didn't like what any of the 8 countries were doing (the war in the Ukraine, fracking, capitalism, you name it).  Our interest is not what they were protesting, but how.  Naked protesters turned up regularly.

Ottawa, Canada, 2002.  Neoliberalism is a trap.  OK, if you say so ...

Edinburgh, Scotland. 2005.  A protester confronts police.

The 2007 G8 meeting in Germany was in a beachfront town.  Given the Germans' relaxed attitude toward nudity, especially on beaches, the result was inevitable.

Some more 2007 protesters.  Are they protesting, or just playing with their water guns?

A 2007 protester arrested on the beach.

A whole group of protesters in 2007.

Finally, I don't know what the year or location was for this G8 protest, but they got my attention.

We'd never get away with any nude protests here in the States.

Ya, what Whkattk said. But it would be fun!

here is a nice way to protest, without destroying everything. Usually the various G8s collect the destroyers of everything!

Well, we now know it is a trap.

But we do need showers ready, for when they start spraying us with chemical weapons.

I wish we had better shots of Manu Bennett protesting the EU. It's kind of funny, since his Arrowverse character is an ultracapitalist in the comics. (His character-establishing panel is dumping video game stock because he doesn't work with losers. And video games were major losers in 1983. Oh yeah, also being an assassin for hire.)
