B. J. Flores
On Oct. 14, 2016, British boxer Tony Bellew and American challenger B. J. Flores weighed in for a fight where Bellew was defending his WBC cruiserweight title. Above, Flores weighs in naked, and he makes weight.
After weighing in, Flores adjusts his towel, momentarily flipping it open. Let's see that part again (above).
That was quick, but thanks to the miracle of digital photography, we can slow down the critical moment.
We should note that the weight limit for this weight class is 200 pounds. His opponent, Bellew, had weighed in at 199 pounds 4 ounces, wearing his boxing trunks. Flores didn't try to weigh in wearing trunks. He went straight to a naked weigh-in, weighing 198 pounds 3 ounces. That means that unless his trunks weighed more than 1 pound 13 ounces (which of course they wouldn't), he didn't need to weigh in naked at all. These fighters weigh themselves carefully in the days before an official weigh-in, to know whether they have to lose some weight in a hurry. I'm thinking that Flores knew that he didn't have to weigh in naked but did so anyway, which suggests a certain degree of exhibitionism. Maybe his flipping the towel open was not entirely accidental.
One final comment on the British units of weight. I've expressed the weights in American units (pounds and ounces). In Britain, they use stones, pounds, and ounces, where a stone = 14 pounds. Stones seem bizarre and quaint to Americans, as I'm sure our pounds and ounces seem bizarre and quaint to the rest of the world, which uses metric units (grams and kilograms). I looked up some other obsolete units of weight, and I found that in former times, a faggot was a unit of weight equal to 120 pounds.
In other words, the weight of B. J. Flores was 5 stone, 8 pounds, 3 ounces and one faggot.
(Hey, it's a joke about bizarre units of weight. I would never use that word as a slur.)

Flores's so cute!
Love to watch when these hunks have to strip totally naked to make weight. We want to see everything.
Didn't 'faggot' also used to refer to a piece of firewood? And when I was a kid, it could also refer to a cigarette.
Yes, you are correct
What a fun post.
@whkattk - Pat, faggot did mean a bundle of sticks or twigs used for fuel (not a single piece of firewood, always a bundle), but nobody uses that term any more. However, in British slang, a fag (not a faggot) is a cigarette, and I think that term is still in use.
Agree with all you said.
