 Red Hot 2017

Thomas Knights is a British fashion photographer.  In this clip from a video interview, he explains why he started photographing redheaded men, known in Britain as gingers.  Knights, who is a redhead himself, was trying to fight the British prejudice against gingers, which includes bullying and discrimination, by presenting them as handsome alpha males.

By the way, as an American, I have always thought the British prejudice against gingers is bizarre.  Personally, I like redheads.

Knights began photographing and publishing Red Hot calendars of redheaded men.  In the first two years, 2014 and 2015, there was no nudity, front or rear.  The men all wore underwear or swimsuits.  Same thing in 2016, with the single exception of Mr. December, Thomas Wade Nicholls, above, who is perhaps giving us a little peek of things to come.

In 2017, he published two Red Hot calendars.  The Red Hot Art calendar had no frontal nudity.  For frontal views, models wore underwear or swimwear, above.

But the calendar included some fully nude models, like Mr. July, Tijs Bastiaens, even though frontal nudity was carefully hidden.  Knights' models were not all British but came from several European countries.

And for the first time there was some rear nudity, like Mr. March, Callum Aylott.

In the other 2017 calendar, Red Hot Exposed, the models were actually not any more exposed.  Again, no frontal nudity, though cover model Daniel Newman is exposing some red pubes.

And again, there is some rear nudity, like model Lukas Bö.  The subdued, low-saturation color, almost black and white, doesn't do justice to his body, but it does set off his red har.

Here's Philippe Horowicz in the same calendar.  It's teasing us, because it could be a frontal view, but the vital part is too dark to see.  Could it be seen by brightening it in Photoshop?  Nope. I tried, but it's just black.

Then, in 2018, Knights completely reversed course by publishing a calendar called Red Hot Cocks, where every month's image was full-frontal.  I'm going to tease you with just the January photo.  You'll have to wait until my next Calendars post to see more of them.
