Poem of the Day - Part 21

Celery
by Ogden Nash

Celery, raw

Develops the jaw.

But celery, stewed

Is more quietly chewed.

It reminds me of when I was singing as a tenor in a choir (40 children and teens and 10 man for the tenor and bass parts. We were mainly the dads.)
During the interlude, we usually have water as our throats needed relief.
But the issue was that our «boys» were experiencing the need to go pee and happened what had to happened. During a Christmas concert one youn boy couldn't retain himself and peed in his pants.

One lady, a mom who was helping us, had the bright idea to serve us some celery during the interlude. It was more soothing to our throats and less dangerous for «some urgent leaks»... LOL !
