Performers - Part 2

The Full Monty

The 1997 movie "The Full Monty" was delightful, and it had more depth than its strip show plot might suggest.  But I have to say, the finale of the strip show (above) was a disappointment, because the actors show "the full monty" to their audience, but not to us – we only see a rear view.

But various groups have subsequently put on a number of "Full Monty" strip show performances.  This is the finale of one of the best I've seen.  It's called "Jo Burt's Full Monty Charity Night."  You can tell the performers are amateurs, not Chippendale types, which adds to the charm.  And we get to see the full monty.

I remember the movie very well and I love to repeat: the less the merrier!

There's a stage version...and, of course, the actors do the same thing: Rip off the g-strings as the lights go to black so you aren't **supposed** to see frontal. But, sometimes the light board operator isn't quite to quick. 😁

I prefer the suggestive approach of the movie. That, and the guys who showed it all were shaved, which was a turn off.

Patrick Wilson has said that at least once during his time with the Broadway run of TFM, the stage lights didn't go down like they were supposed to and they were left standing there stark naked in front of the audience and everybody got a good look at everything. The people got their money's worth on that night.
