 2008 Beijing, part 1 of 4

The 2008 Olympic Games were held in Beijing, China.  This is a Chinese 10 Yuan note celebrating the event.

Let's look at some of the athletes who competed in the 2008 Olympics.  This is American runner Ryan Hall.

Belgian runner Kristof Beyens.

British boxer Joe Murray checking his weight at the Olympics before the official weigh-in.

Israeli windsurfer Shahar Zubari competed in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics.  He won a bronze medal in 2008.

American baseball player Jake Arrieta.  The U.S. team won a bronze medal.

American runner Walter Dix won two bronze medals, one in the 100 meter run and one in the 200 meter run.

British runners, brothers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee.  They competed in every Olympics from 2008 through 2020.  Alistair won gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, and Jonathan won bronze in 2012, silver in 2016, and gold in 2020.

British boxer Billie Joe Saunders competed in 2008.  He is seen here stripping to weigh in for a fight in 2017.
